Aurora Gasull - Un Sourire, on music of Olivier Messiaen
Un Souririe by Aurora Gasull  Auroral Gasull has been working in Visual Music for the last 10 years. Her latest work in ‘ Un Souririe ’ (A Smile) with music of Olivier Messiaen. This is a very beautiful animation, that has many visual worlds presentet to us akin to phrases in music, in which a visual world explores the music world and changes and transforms. Some very evocative scenes, for example, a really lovely expansive scene of colours shapes that work as a whole but which expand and contract into stretched or compressed shapes - lovely motion experiences. http://www.aurora.cat/auroraunsourire/ From biography on her website 'Born in Barcelona, cellist and member of a number of chamber groups up to 1990, she first approaches visual arts through phot…

20 Hz - Semiconductor Video
This piece is quite incredible in the patterns and sense of depth and dimension.  It is really beautiful.  Semiconductors film 200 Nanowebbers was really brilliant too, but this new work form 2011, is equally as good.  Great work semiconductor 20 Hz - A Semiconductor work by Ruth Jarman and Joe Gerhardt. Genesi - live audiovisual - Abstract Bird
Genesi is a live audiovisual show by Abstract Bird. Both the music and the visuals are generated in realtime using the input of two electric instruments (a wind instrument and a piano). AlloSphere Research Factility - Interecting Science, Engineering and New Media
California NanoSystems Institute, UC Santa Barbara "The AlloSphere is a unique, one-of-a-kind scientific instrument that is a culmination of 24 years of Professor JoAnn Kuchera-Morin's creativity and research efforts in media systems and studio design. She approached the design of the AlloSphere in much the same way that she composes a piece of music... The AlloSphere space consists of a 3-story cube that is treated with extensive sound absorption material making it one of the largest anechoic chambers in the world. Standing inside this chamber are two 5-meter-radius hemispheres constructed of perforated aluminum that are designed to be optically opaque and acoustically transparent. There are currently two projectors, soon to be multiple high-resolution video …

12_Series by Telcosystems - 2009
12_Series is a new generative multichannel computer installation by Telcosystems (NL). 12_series - work in progress pt. 2 from Telcosystems. "The installation is an audiovisual horizon comprised of twelve identical image and sound generating machines.   The software for these machines is based on the idea of evolution, implementing forms of audiovisual imitation, mutation and recombination, aiming for the emergence of captivating complexity from a vocabulary of rudimentary shapes, sounds and logic. The system is build around the notion of decentralized autonomous decision making, where each machine displays its own generative behavior, while reacting to behavior of neighboring machines and adapting to centrally organized environmental variables. In this way the i…

This might mean that the intent of the work is to make evolution the primary message. Evolution involves a complex process of development with many possible influences. Much of art inv…
